Bankruptcy counsel to Gerald K. Smith, trustee for the Boston Chicken Plan Trust, as an equity holder in the chapter 11 case filed by Einstein/Noah Bagel Corporation and Einstein/Noah Bagel Partners, L.P.
GGW Brands, LLC
Bankruptcy counsel to the chapter 11 trustee of GGW Brands and its subsidiaries, which is the producer and distributor of "Girls Gone Wild" and "Guys Gone Wild" adult entertainment. GGW Brands distributes approximately 75 DVDs, operates a website with over 9,000 paying subscribers, and produces a new pay-per-video every month.
IndyMac Bancorp, Inc.
Bankruptcy counsel to chapter 7 trustee of IndyMac Bancorp, Inc. (Bancorp), which is the holding company for IndyMac Bank, F.S.B. (Bank). KTBS has been assisting the trustee in pursuing substantial causes of action, including a claim to $55 million in tax refunds and a claim to insurance proceeds in connection with a multimillion-dollar claim against former officers and directors.
Michael J. Kamen
Bankruptcy counsel to chapter 7 trustee for the bankruptcy estate of this real estate investor and developer, which holds interests in roughly one hundred limited liability companies, partnerships, and other entities, many of which are or were debtors in their own bankruptcy cases. KTBS has been actively involved in identifying and recovering undisclosed assets, resolving issues of corporate control, and investigating allegations of fraud.
Tribune Company Examiner
Co-counsel to partner Kenneth N. Klee, the court-appointed independent examiner in the chapter 11 cases of Tribune Company, et al. The investigation, and the resulting 1,400-page report (completed in less than 3 months), uncovered the facts surrounding and analyzed potential estate causes of action against parties involved in, complex financing transactions and other work.
